Growing our Plastics Recycling Platform: Acquisition of Polymer Compounding Specialist Hoffmann + Voss
Vidia Climate Fund I is pleased to announce the acquisition of Hoffmann + Voss GmbH, completed in late June 2025 through its PolymerCycle platform. A specialist in polymer compounding – a critical customization and finishing step in the plastics recycling value chain – Hoffmann + Voss operates from its facility in Viersen, North Rhine-Westphalia, delivering high-performance recycled materials across a broad range of demanding end-use applications.
Hoffmann + Voss supplies the electrical, household appliances, as well as automotive industries with high-quality, customized materials. The acquisition of Hoffmann + Voss by the PolymerCycle Group, Vidia’s plastics recycling platform, marks a significant milestone in the platform’s vertical integration strategy. This step brings advanced polymer compounding capabilities in-house, a critical process in which base polymers are blended with targeted additives to achieve specific mechanical, visual, and other functional properties. The combined group is uniquely positioned to meet the growing European demand for high-quality recycled materials.
By joining forces, the companies are combining access to raw material streams, expertise in demanding customer industries, production capacities, and their technology and material know-how. Together, PolymerCycle can offer its customers an even more comprehensive range of products and services – from unsorted raw materials to complex recompounds.
“Our partnership with PolymerCycle enables us to successfully navigate a generational transition at Hoffmann + Voss while significantly strengthening our market position as part of the group,” said Frauke Hoffmann, Managing Director of Hoffmann + Voss. “This is precisely the addition both we and our customers have been waiting for,” added Patrick Blessing, CEO of PolymerCycle.
We would like to thank our advisers from GLNS, PWWL, AC Christes & Partner, GSK Stockmann, Linklaters, and PwC for the successful collaboration over the past months. We would also like to thank the entire Hoffmann + Voss Team and Dr. Riedel for their trust and partnership throughout this process.
