36 years of meteorological expertise, one new chapter: Vidia partners with anemos

anemos Gesellschaft für Umweltmeteorologie mbH („anemos“) will join Vidia Climate Fund I. The company was acquired from the founder’s family and is one of Germany’s largest and most established providers of independent meteorological assessments and services with a focus on the wind energy sector.

Founded in 1990 by Dr. Heinz-Theo Mengelkamp and headquartered in Reppenstedt near Lüneburg, anemos provides high-quality, bankable meteorological assessments and services, including a dedicated data and digital services offering. With more than 55 employees, the company provides services along the wind energy value chain: from yield assessments to its proprietary anemos windatlas, as well as operations phase and economic assessments.

The existing and established management team – Lasse Blanke, André Glücksmann and Martin Schneider – will continue to lead anemos independently. Founder Heinz-Theo Mengelkamp continues in an advisory role. Together, anemos and Vidia aim to grow the business with a focus on digitalization, investment into capacity building, and expanding the service offering for existing and new customers.

After GEO-NET, anemos is the second energy and climate consulting specialist in the Vidia portfolio. Both companies will continue to be managed fully independently by their respective management teams and will maintain their own brands, customer relationships, and operational autonomy.
