I17-Wind joins Vidia’s Energy & Climate Consulting Group

I17-Wind GmbH & Co. KG (“I17-Wind”) joins Vidia’s Energy and Climate Consulting group (“group”). I17-Wind adds industry leading and accredited site suitability assessment, as well as further immission capabilities, digital tools and other permitting support for wind energy, rounding off the service portfolio of the group.

With GEO-NET, anemos, planGIS, IEL and I17-Wind, the group offers a full-fledged portfolio: Site and wind resource data, meteorological modeling, GIS and environmental planning, noise, shadow, and turbulence assessments, as well as other permitting support. This makes it an integrated partner for planning, permitting, optimizing, repowering, and continuing to operate renewable energy projects.

I17-Wind, based in Husum, Kiel and Hamburg (Germany) and founded in 2012, is an independent specialist assessor for the wind energy sector. The company performs more than 1,000 assessments per year, making it a clear market leader in turbulence and site suitability assessments in Germany.

I17-Wind offers a unique one-stop shop offering for the full site suitability, shadow, and noise suite (“S3-package”), as well as WakeGuard®, a proprietary platform for turbulence and site suitability calculations, which customers leverage to optimize their layouts from day one, collaborate seamlessly, and get assessments back faster.

I17-Wind will continue to be led independently by its existing team. André Gefke and Christian Kebbel remain Managing Directors and co-shareholders.
