Introducing the Vidia Portfolio Impact Review 2023
A message from our founder
In an era of unprecedented global crises, which range from climate change to social inequality, the world is standing at a critical juncture. The need for rapid, systemic change is urgent, and the role of impact investors has never been more pivotal. The notion that impact investing can play a key role in solving global issues is increasingly becoming mainstream. Vidia was founded to contribute to solving our biggest challenge: climate change. The mission is clear: to identify the most attractive decarbonization business models for the highest-emitting sectors, set measurable targets, and contribute impact value creation beyond capital.
Vidia has been carefully “built for purpose,” with an organizational structure and impact methodology designed to maximize decarbonization impact across the entire investment lifecycle.
Vidia Climate Fund I was closed at the end of 2023, exceeding its target at a hard cap of EUR 415 million. Given the economic climate over the previous two years, this represented a massive milestone for the entire Vidia team. The oversubscribed fund received strong interest from global investors, attracting sizeable commitments from highly regarded European and North American institutional LPs, including public pension funds, insurers, global PE consultants, endowments, and foundations. We are incredibly grateful for the trust and confidence placed in our team and our strategic vision to help accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy while delivering financial overperformance for our investors.
